Jolie Chorbajian
MA RCC Registered Clinical Counsellor
I work with Families, Couples, Individuals in transformative stages from ages 8-80, Trades Sector and various First Nations Groups (keeping abreast with cultural awareness).
Driven personally and professionally by three intentions: I am compassionately curious, "I try never to underestimate human potential", and I will always meet you -where you are at - with the hopes we can get you where you want to be
About Me
My path into this profession began with a simple but enduring question: Why do we do the things we do? Even early in my training, I was fascinated by the patterns people repeat – the ways we protect ourselves, the beliefs we inherit, and the habits we hold onto long after they’ve stopped serving us. That curiosity quickly became a calling. As I grew in my career, I realized that my work is not just about understanding behaviour – it’s about understanding the human being behind the behaviour.
Over the past two decades, my work has spanned Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Early Childhood Development, Family Systems, and Individual and Educational Psychology. I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, youth, adults, families, and communities through moments of uncertainty, transition, and profound change
My passion lies in helping clients rethink and rewire maladaptive strategies. We all build patterns – some conscious, many automatic – that once protected us but later keep us stuck. When we can explore these patterns without judgment, we gain the freedom to choose differently. That moment of choice, where insight and agency meet, is where change becomes possible.
I’ve learned that therapy is not about “fixing” people. It’s about understanding ourselves with honesty and compassion, developing tools that actually support our wellbeing, and learning to trust our own inner compass again. My work is rooted in the belief that people are capable of profound growth when supported with clarity, respect, and a road map that makes sense.
My Approach
My approach is grounded, direct, and deeply human. I draw from evidence-based practices, but I don’t treat people like a diagnosis or a set of symptoms. Therapy with me is relational and practical. We focus on what’s happening in your life, your mind, and your body – not abstract theory. And we address the patterns, the ones that work and the ones that don’t.
At its core, my work supports people in returning to themselves – the parts they’ve minimized, disconnected from, or learned to question. Together, we build clarity, resilience, and a deeper understanding of what drives your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
